Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Thursday – February 25, 2010 – 6:00 pm


Present: Chairwoman, Karen Day; Selectman, Jarvis Adams, IV; Selectman, Aaron Kullgren
Minutes: Debra Davidson
Call to order: Chairwoman Day called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

Appointments:
There were no appointments scheduled for this meeting.
Approval of minutes:
February 18, 2010 Selectmen’s meeting minutes were approved as written.
Sign Documents:
Selectmen signed the following documents.
·       A/P invoices
·       A/P Checks
·       Secondary Fire & EMS Dispatch Letter
·       Current Use Application – Dubois
·       PRIMEX participation agreement & eligibility of Dependents – discussion followed regarding the option of offering “life partners” and their dependents health insurance.  Lengthy discussion followed.
        After lengthy discussion it was voted 3-0 not to provide this option at this time.
·       Letter of reference
Old Business:
WRB – Administrative Assistant reported she contacted Bill Harper and he will be resubmitting a hard quote for the roof repairs at the Library.
New business:
·       Mail - Selectmen reviewed the weekly incoming mail.  
·       E-mail - Selectmen reviewed an E-mail from Maureen Soragan re: Quitclaim deed

·       Timber Tax – Day recused herself from this discussion as she has requested her timber tax invoice be abated, as she did not receive any money from the logger for the trees that were removed.  Discussion followed – this will be tabled until research can be done to see if this has occurred in the past.  Also, Day will talk to her logger to see if he will pay the Timber Tax.  Administrative Assistant was asked to find out the intent of what timber tax is actually for, and if there is room for leniency.
·       Appointments – After reviewing the DRAFT Town Report, discussion followed regarding departments having expired appointments.  The ConCom needs to be reappointed; the ZBA needs to be reviewed and new appointments if necessary.
·       Personnel Reviews – Administrative Assistant was instructed to send out personnel reviews before Town Meeting and to further remove the section, which indicates what, if any, raise would be provided.
·       List of Duties – Selectman Adams asked if a list of what the Chairperson is to do each month for an entire year.  This will be of assistance for whoever is the Chairperson.
·       CRF – Selectmen instructed Administrative Assistant to post a notice that the Board will be discussing at the March 4, 2010 Selectmen’s Meeting to utilize funds from the Highway CRF to pay for the radiator repairs.  The amount of repairs is $1700 +/-.  
·       Staff Meeting - Discussion followed regarding holding a meeting after town meeting with all dept. heads to reflect on town meeting and discuss what is expected from everyone in the year 2010.
Adjournment:   With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.  The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm.
